The Session Space

Talk Therapy for Twenty-Somethings and Teens

Isn’t this supposed to be the “best time of your life”?

We are often told that our youth and early adulthood are the most care-free, exciting times of our lives where we feel and look our best. We are told that our opportunities during these life stages are endless and that we have all the time in the world to “figure stuff out”.

While some of this may be true, if you ask most twenty-somethings and teens today, this time period is also filled with confusion, uncertainty and big life questions.

Trying to “figure it all out?”

Your twenty-somethings and late teens are critical periods in building your life story.  Whether it is making major decisions, exploring love and friendships,  experimenting with a new lifestyle, or dealing with adversity and uncertainty, The Session Space has you covered!

 Life Stage Focused Therapy

At The Session Space, talk therapy is focused on four key areas (but not limited to):

  • Finding your way (Identity, Transitions and Life Challenges)

Stop questioning everything and start doing your thing.

  • Navigating the Hard Stuff (Trauma and Mental Health)

Feeling stuck? Let’s bridge the gap between living in your head and repeating old patterns to moving forward with a new perspective and way of being.

  • Building a Life You Want (Life, Career, Post-secondary and Education Planning)

Adulting comes fast. So let’s slow down and make a plan that feels right for you.

  • Strengthening your Connection (Self, Relationships, Family, Community and Love)

Love is a muscle. We’ll train it to build strong relationships with the people who matter and most importantly your self.

The Session Space is a private psychotherapy practice that focuses on the mental health and wellness of young adults and youth as they experience the complexities of life, relationships, career and trying to figure it all out.

Most therapy practices focus distinctly on teens and adulthood, leaving out the critical chapter of the emerging adult. At The Session Space, we view the late teens and twenty-somethings as an important life stage in human development that deserves its own focus.

Young adulthood is a critical junction of the life’s journey. The choices we make during this time period are foundational to our identity, our gifts and how we love and interact with the world around us.

The Session Space’s focus on late teens to twenty-somethings has been informed by decades of experience working with youth and young adults in multiple sectors. Your therapy experience is informed by a robust education and background in adolescent and adult development, mental health, trauma, social justice and identity studies.
